Help with inspiration

Appreciate any ideas and inspiration for improving on the monoculture in our backyard. Focus to date has been on growing a hedge to hide/break up the fence line.

We live south coast NSW, the rear (white wall) faces East and the house is in an elevated spot where we experience the southerlies.

Soil is clay. There is some space between the hedge planting and the edge of the wall, perhaps 30-40cm.
