Hi Gardening Family! Is anyone able to help with some tips on getting my passionfruit to ripen? I have so many on the vine and they're all nice and big, they've been on there for a few weeks and seem to have stopped growing however they're not really changing colour and ripening. I have picked some off – will they ripen without being on the vine? I have to give it a trim and there are so many passionfruit, I don't want to lose them all (instead share them with the neighbours) If I pick them all off now still being green will that be okay?

Thanks in advance!

They won’t ripen off the vine. They can take a couple of months (or longer through winter) to ripen and will drop off the vine when ripe.

  2. Don’t pick them off the vine, when they’re ready they’ll drop off.

Only **fruit that has begun to colour** will finish ripening off the vine.
**Fully green fruit will not.** They’ll shrivel instead of sweetening. **Wait for natural drop** — ripe passionfruit usually fall off on their own.

Do you have the yellow or purple variety ? We have yellow. So when they are turning yellow on the vine we pick them and put them in a bowl on the kitchen bench

They won’t ripen. You have to wait for them to fall off the vine, then they’re ripe
