Are you better off starting herbs from seed or buying plants from the nursery? In this collaboration with Robin Gardens, we break down the best herbs to grow from seed, which herbs are easier to buy as starts, and when to plant them based on your last frost date.
We also share creative ways to use fresh herbs in the kitchen, from herb dressings and infused honey to compound butter, herb salts, and simple ferments.
One of the biggest reasons to grow herbs at home is access to flavors you can’t find at the grocery store. We highlight unique herbs like French tarragon, Lovage, Common sorrel, and summer savory โ herbs that thrive in the garden but rarely make it to store shelves.
In this conversation we cover:

Hi
Just left another or several questions for Thursday night chat ๐
Found a nest of voles ๐. Sad part is they found my last hope of Siberian Irises ๐ญ๐ซ๐ก
Oh and Shawnee, Danny said itโs definitely the broad beans that need peeled which I think King Windsor are. Also I think there are a couple different fava beans as I seen one was used for cover crop.
