Love this small part of the garden but after raking leaves there’s nothing underneath. What kind of ground cover would be best? Zone 6a. Included a picture of overhead trees. Will be shady. Thanks!

I’d want to lay down an irregularly shaped patio of large flagstones if you intend to use that furniture and go to my state’s native plant society and figure out what ferns, sedges and low growing plants to grow around the perimeter so less manicuring and watering is necessary. If possible adding a few shrubs to the entry and ringing the top of the stone wall could turn this into an amazing secret garden.

    Lovely spot already!
