my aloe that I've had for 8 years all of a sudden popped out a peduncle?! is this it? I was really hoping the flower would change colors, into a bright red or orange, but it's starting to look like it's wilting 😞

Might be it. If it dies you may see some pups (daughter plants) around the base. That’s a great-looking aloe.
I have 4 on mine. It’s a different type of aloe though. Everyone in my area with aloe has flowers. It’s that time of year. Enjoy! Hummingbirds love them!
Aloe Vera flower. Not death loom flower.

My biggest 4 aloes are flowering at the moment, been for a few weeks. Even other strains of aloe are flowering. It’s there time.
Aloes like this have yellow flowers. Aloe Arristata has red flowers.
