Hiii, so my mom has this calathea, she used to have ut in her office and she was very happy and growing well, now she moved it to out home (like 4-5 months ago) and now it's getting a kinda sticky dots in the underside of it's leafs, roots look good, humidity is 55% or around, but I don't think humidity might be the issue cause in her office she used to have the AC on but i don't know, and she waters her every week or so, depending if it's dry or not. Please calathea experts, help this calathea make it to next year.

What kind of water does she water the plant with? Also, I would consider quarantining this plant until you figure out whats wrong. If it has pests, you definitely don’t want them to spread to the ones nearby.
She also really needs to clean this plants leaves…
Check the roots for rot and cant tell from pics if it has a pest problem, get those leaves cleaned!.
1 high Humidy [ get a humidifier]
2 / soil light moist not dry and not soggy
3/ separate her , i think she has mites
4 clean every leaf with a warm moisty cloth
Spidermites
You have really bad spider mites. You need to get rid of them. Perfect care vs mites and the mites win every time.
I have this exact same plant, and it looks exactly the same, it has the same sticky dots underneath and it’s not spidermites in my case. I had a bad case of that once.
I haven’t found anything to help, but when I moved it completely away from any window, a bunch of new fresh leaves grew out, they have not started to get brown yet.
Pinstripe are THEE top tier divas of the bunch. She’s in distress. She will recover very slowly, probably freezing any praying and growth operations until she’s back to 85% health – then you’ll see her to start recover.
Clipping that big ugly leaf will help. I named mine Diana Ross cuz it’s such a diva.
Offer her some distilled water, preferably through a bottom watering. At that size, 20-30 mins will do Make sure the moisture meter, if handy, reads 4-6 after 2-3 days.
Treat her to a spa in the steamy shower for about 10-15 mins. Mama needs to rest after that. Please make sure that her pot is being rotated for even light exposure. Optimal humidity is 60%. Bright, indirect sunlight, meaning 2 feet away from the brightest window.
I’ve learned all of this in the last three weeks. I’m up to 25 plants right now, starting from zero. A3 of them are Calathea and they have all proven to be quite awesome.
