Can a crown regrow??

This violet had to be decapitated just days after arrival due to grey fungus overtaking the crown.

But look! Is that a new crown? Or more likely a sucker?

Either way… this poor plant has survived grey fungus, decapitation, and my overzealous cornering on the highway that knocked off a couple leaves when I brought it to work, and it’s still blooming/growing so color me impressed.

(It gets bottom watered when it feels light with one drop Schmidt’s violet fertilizer per bottle of water, and I let it sit in an applesauce cup to soak up from the bottom, and I have a grow light since I’m in a windowless office).
