Bought a Yucca a couple months ago. Not watered it since I got it so looked like it really needed a water. Watered a couple of days ago and now its gone like this.

Normally placed in spare room which is south facing so gets a good 6 hours of sunlight a day at least.

Will it recover?

Do I need to cut the drooping leaves off?

  1. Mine get at least 12 hour of south facing light each day (or as much as there is in the winter) and I drench the soil completely every 1-1,5 months, think a bit more often it its outside in the sun in the summer.

If you’ve had it a couple months and not watered at all since you’ve got it it might have been under watered? yuccas famously enjoy drought but 2+ months feels like quite a long time!

id take it out the pot and have a look at the roots, make sure they’re firm and white and not mushy and brown/black. if they are firm and white and the trunk is firm and not soft then i think it might be a watering issue but it should bounce back. for clarity im not an expert but i have had mine over a year
