This spring, I have moved into a new house and, for the first time in my adult life, I need to learn how to tend, cultivate and plant a garden. The garden itself is not big, but I do feel quite fortunate to have private outdoor space in the city, so intend to make the most of it–and while I know very little about gardening, I do have access to the knowledge of my colleagues here at House & Garden. Through interviewing experts, trial and error in their own gardens and years of experience working in this office, Sue Gilkes, Clare Foster and Elizabeth Metcalfe know everything worth knowing about gardens.
