I get dust collector bags from a local mill that makes butcher blocks for almost nothing. I’ve been doing this almost six years now to control weeds in my garden. It works great and eventually turns into soil. Awesome cheap alternative to weed mat or pulling.

Nice, practical idea but I want to know about your zen pond.
Does it compact down fairly quickly? How well does it hold up with the wind? Seems like it could be a great idea but that would be my main concern for my area, since we get some crazy wind around my area
