In this video, I am starting a variety of edible flowers to add some colour and flavour to the garden this season. I will be planting Nasturtiums, Violas, and Bachelor Buttons using a nutrient-rich soil blend that gives these seeds a great head start before they move out to the garden.
My Booster Soil Mix for Seed Starting that I’m using today:
Sea Soil: A rich base containing seaweed and fish protein for natural nutrients.
Pumice: To create a “chunky” texture that prevents soil compaction and root rot.
Worm Castings: Highly nutritious organic matter to fuel early growth.
Garden Booster Mix: An additional soil blend to ensure a well-rounded nutrient profile.
Starting these indoors in mid-April is a great way to ensure they are strong and healthy before the weather is warm enough for them to be transplanted outside.

I love using this soil mix to give my edible flowers the best start. Are you planting any seeds this weekend? I would love to hear what is on your garden list.
