Some of these popped up in my neighborhood last year, but none in our yard. It looks like they’ve spread to our yard though. I don’t like where it is now, too close to my veggie bed, but I was thinking about just moving it elsewhere. I have generally heard morning glory can be quite aggressive but the ones I saw in the neighborhood last year seemed to die out and not get too crazy. Overall friend or foe? To pull or not to pull?

Big time foe. Dig it out by its root. It is determined to thrive. You will never get rid of it. Commonly called bind weed.
My best friend in the whole world plants Morning Glory on purpose. It is her only flaw in my eyes.
That said, rip it out with zero hesitation and no prejudice.
Rip it out by the roots before it gets too big. They will wrap around every plant you love.
Kill on sight
I planted morning glories along part of my fence with a trellis… How bad did I fk up?
It makes me sad how People consider this a virulent weed because it is also a native plant that thrives on neglect, blooms prodigiously and provides nectar for all our native pollinators. It requires maintenance to keep from spreading, but if you give it a home it benefits the ecosystem of your garden greatly.
It’s beautiful and the pollinators love it, but yeah… get rid of it. Last year I let some live for awhile and this year I am pulling up dozens of sprouts every single day. Not worth it.
I have some that grows on part of my railing on the deck. I just keep it controlled by plucking out unwanted plants. It requires zero watering and blooms for months on end. Those characteristics make it a win for my yard.
