We discovered a bird nest with eggs nicely hidden in a potted plant on our back patio. My wife first noticed it about a week ago and we haven’t seen mommy bird. We’re worried it’s been abandoned or other wildlife might find it. Anything we can do other than watch through the window and hope for the best?

My yearly wrens have blessed my front porch with a new clutch of eggs as well! I was also fretting that they abandoned the nest, but I think trust that the weather in alotting mom and dad bird to eat their full.

Just keep an eye and be very careful when you peek because sometimes youll have a bird shoot out at you 🤣

They don’t start sitting until all the eggs are laid, so only stop by every couple days to lay their egg. My pair of Carolina wrens took a couple weeks to lay all their eggs, and I think they may have started sitting just a couple days ago. So hatch is in about 2 weeks, fledge in about 4 weeks. My poor syngonium is so thirsty but it’ll have to deal with tiny sips of water for a while yet. The pair return every year and raise two clutches in various spots on my patio. Noisy little boogers.
