I started these well over a month ago and they have stunted since germination. Do they have damping off disease? I know they’re too wet, I was out of town and my husband left them in several inches of water. The fungus on the soil then appeared after.

You can try re-potting in much better soil composition. Still a bit young for fertilizer.

Honestly, unless you’re attached to these seeds in specific, I’d just trash them and buy starts. There’s no shame in it.

They don’t look good for a month old, TBH. You might be able to salvage the ones that don’t have the narrowing at the stem, like the one closest to the camera, but if you have more seed and start them now in proper seedling mix you’d do better. Or you could buy your starts this year. Or both.

Seedlings of this size can be repotted in new growing medium. You can pop out the plugs, gently rinse to expose the tiny roots, and transplant them into a fluffier medium with less organic saturation such as Pro-Mix HP. It’s best to have something with perlite and peat moss.

You can always sow backups in the meantime. I wouldn’t give up on the ones that are standing straight, but it’s important to get rid of the ones that have damped off and separate the ones you will keep right away to reduce risk of spores spreading.

    Good luck to you!🍅🍅🍅

I think they’re not getting enough light.
