I’ve spent the last fourteen years creating a garden designed for beauty in all four seasons. Winter is the perfect time to reflect, plan, and gather ideas for the growing season ahead.

This video is part of a seasonal garden tour series, with each episode highlighting a different season and showing how the garden evolves throughout the year in my zone 6b/7a garden.

Whether you’re planning your garden or simply enjoying some winter garden inspiration, I hope this series gives you ideas you can carry into your own space. Thanks for watching, Steph 🌱 #gardentour #gardening #plants #fourseasongarden

  2. Thank you for your video on this January day. I love your variety of Japanese maples. The small conifers that you have are very adorable. I would love to copy your choice of plants and trees shrubs. Thank you so much on this cold cold day.

  3. Thank you for putting this together. My spring garden needs a lot more work and I love seeing the videos all grouped together. Seeing spring in bloom helps me plan and escape the winter blues

  4. Beautiful! I am looking to start adding maples and conifers so your videos are an inspiration 🥰

  5. I love how colorful your garden is! The different colors and shapes of the Japanese maples and the conifers is STUNNING! I’ve been gardening for almost forty years now but I definitely am not as talented at garden design as you are! I’m feeling more discouraged than excited for the upcoming season this year because the last two years my garden has struggled because of lack of rain and no matter how much I tried to water I just couldn’t keep up. Hopefully this year we won’t have a drought again!🤞

  6. Gorgeous plants ! Stunning garden! LOVE LOVE LOVE! And I liked seeing the bunnies too.. even if they are pesky 😅 such inspiring maples and conifers! I hope mine look that good one day 😅 sending love from se Queensland x

  7. Quick question: Did the deer zapper stick work for you in repelling the deer? I saw it on one of your videos from winter 2023 & you said you would update on whether it worked but I couldn’t find the update video. Thanks!

  8. Thanks to you and George. This series is very informative espeically since I live in the same planting zone. Thank you for sharing your planting experience.

  9. What a great series ☀️🌸🕊️ So many beauties, so many colors – love everything! Especially all of your maples♥️ I can’t wait for the next one🤗

  10. Gorgeous! 🤩 All of the gardens blend together so well. So pretty! You and George make a great team! It’s nice to share and enjoy a hobby together 💘💘

  11. Your garden tours feel like I’m strolling with a dear friend. I have so enjoyed learning from you and watching your garden come alive with each season. I live in Ohio with a full sun situation and now want a bit of Steph in my backyard. Can you tell us, if you were just getting started which Japanese maple you would plant first. Thank you

  12. Love all the winter interest in your gardens…. Beautifully planned gardens for 4 season interest.❤

  13. Your garden is so beautiful. What a great mix of shrubsand trees and plants. NOt many annuals. Do you put in later? I like your edging. Can you share where you got it?

  14. Regarding the RED LILY BEETLE:

"To fight red lily beetles, manually pick them off (adults drop easily, larvae are slimy) and crush them or drop them in soapy water, focusing on early mornings and inspecting undersides for orange eggs, using protective barriers like mesh, or applying organic sprays like Neem oil or Spinosad in the evening, ensuring thorough coverage.

👉🏼👉🏼Diligent, repeated action is key to control this pest."👈🏼👈🏼👈🏼

  15. Hi Steph. Always enjoy your beautiful garden tours. Hope one day you can share a Japanese maple pruning segment. Also do you ever have aphids issue on your maples? I struggle with them every Spring.

  16. Your knack for putting together contrasting textures, colours and structure is remarkable!! Such a beautiful property you have both created. ❤❤❤

  17. RED Lilly Bugs. Crush Garlic and Add it to water in a Spray Bottle and spray the leaves morning and Night
My Daughter had these bugs. She moved the Bulbs from her house to her Cottage further North In Wi.
She still had the bugs. So we dug them all up and I brought them to TN. I washed them and left them dry in the Sun
I waited until fall to Plant them. I have never gotten the red bugs.
She figured they came from a nursery where she bought some. I always order my bulbs rather then buy
those plants from a nursery. Give it a try because they only get worse.
    your garden is beautiful

  18. Steph, we’ve been in our home for 14 years too, about an acre of land that I’ve been methodically renovating section by section, year after year. We’re in GA, so much different soil challenges and plant selections, but some overlap too. I’ve really been enjoying your channel, as this year I’m going a bit nuts, starting thousands of pieces from seed, everything from hardy to tender perennials to annuals, container specialists, shrub-like things, low ground covers, just everything. Also going to rent a tiller and do some pretty intensive renovation of the soil in about 12 beds, amending with some permanent things like stone grit and expanded shale to mimic wildflower habitat. You’ve helped me pick out some varieties I wasn’t familiar with like gomphrena, ageratum, and improved zinnia cultivars, and inspired a different way of approaching my designs. So thanks and good luck in the garden this year!

  19. Beautiful as always. It seems like you live in the east coast somewhere. It would help to know what state youre in so I can compare weather to my 9b CA garden. 😅
