I like the natural stone look but would using some type of retaining wall paver blocks be easier/better? I also don’t know much about the actual construction about things like this I was thinking of having it slant in a bit to mitigate gravity. Any thoughts or tips?
Image is closest I could get to what I was thinking using AI

No offense, but you got this far with AI, why not keep going? You can literally ask it the next things to consider, if these rocks can work, or if a paver solution would be better. Your question is too open ended. Yes, anything you want can be done. Just depends on what you want.
Concrete block walls (CMU interlocking style) are the cheapest and easiest, they can even look nice if you pick a good supplier and have a professional install it.
You can add stone veneer on top of the block concrete if you like that look, but actually building the wall strictly out of stacked stone is only done by a skilled Mason and is extremely expensive.
If that tree is there in real life it will die if you stack dirt up on it like that
This is a bad idea especially if the bed is going against the fence. That much dirt will 1000% blow out your fence. Trust me I’m recovering from a previous bed install that was only 8″ and the fence is wrecked in parts. I would consider something else
Is your fence built already? If the fence is in the ground at the lowest level of the yard you shouldn’t put a bunch of soil up against it.
AI can make things look cool but it will never be able to make decisions about things like this well. A landscape designer knows the light, soil, zoning codes, and grade of your yard. Find a person to give you a plan. AI knows jack all about it and those things will make or break this as a project.
I’m a landscape designer and was literally just chatting with my wife about clients feeding me AI stuff. It looks good but always lacks real world substance as all others have said this is a tough build consider mounding maybe if it’s height interest you looking for. If your dead set on the walls go get a quote from a builder and get there input on how it’s going to work as others have said wall against fence is never ideal with lots of complications. My biggest cioncern is are you about to build a drainage issue and flood your whole backyard?
You can have some feature that adds steppage and height without adding a false terrace. You can landscape a central lawn surrounded by other plants.
I would not do this.
It almost looks like a situation where the city says you can only have a 4 foot fence. So you build a wall that’s 6 feet high then put the fence on top of the wall
Please remember that your fence isnt a retaining wall,,
