What can I do to this Adonsonii? It keeps losing bottom leaves, and use to be full. I’ve propped a few from the top, but now only have 5 leaves left. I’m at a total loss. I want to keep it on the pole, but will it ever grow from the bare stem again? Should I just scrap it, and start over? Please help!

Chop and extend
Don’t know what happened (one of the usual: to much or few water, sunlight, etc.).
But I would start over. Cut the top off with the remaining leaves and put it in water to get new roots.
You could technically also cut up the stem in small parts (with one or two “eyes” each) and have each of them resprout in water.
If you keep it like this, it will never grow new leaves from the bottom again, or maybe just one or two.
Guarantee it’s a watering issue, exact same thing was happening to my Adansonii before I got it down. In my case I was under watering and letting it dry out too much
Wrap some sphagnum in a ball around the stem with plastic wrap below the last leaf for at least 2 weeks. Then chop it after you can see some roots in the plastic. Then you can right to soil or let more roots develop in the sphagnum. I would the cut every node and prop it( I have a problem) but if you to just make 2 plants you can cut the other off at the pot and it should resprout with good lighting.
Need to make sure you’re watering right when the pot dries out halfway. A plant can’t maintain its oldest leaves if it doesn’t have the moisture to do so!
