I’ve gotten into gardening, this group is great, I took everyone’s advice and put much less fertiliser in my plants, are my plants looking healthy? Is there anything else I can do to help them grow ? 😁, I plan to plant them once we move into our house,
The plants I have are
A succulent (not sure what type)
A poinsettia
And 2 snake plants

I’ve got no specific advice to give, but I highly recommend buying “gardening down under: a guide to healthy soil 2nd by Kevin Handreck”. Bloke is an ex csiro soil scientist and was on the committee that came up with the potting mix standards that we use today. It was written in the early 2000s but It’s still relevant today.
I suppose I’ll given some advice actually. Any seaweed based garden product such as seasol are great for plants as seaweed contains a bunch of naturally occurring plant growth hormones than help with root development and stresses. There’s studies out there if you want to delve in deeper.
Zeolite is an excellent addition to a potting mix at a volume of 5-10 percent of the container you’ve planted into. It pretty much reduces nutrient loss from the mix thanks to its high cation exchange capacity. It also significantly reduces the likelihood of ammonium toxicity from occurring due to excessive ammonium fertiliser.
Plant’s in soiless mix, i.e pretty much all potting mixes made today, only require a phosphorus ratio of .15 to ever 1 part nitrogen on average. Some plants require more, some less. Don’t waste money on high phosphorus bloom boosters.
