Hi y'all. I have the young live oak pictured that I planted ~3 years ago. Seems to be thriving so far, to the point I'm wondering to trim/prune or let it be. What say you, friends?
It looks like it is ready for a little structural pruning. Here are the specs we use for that:
The young Live Oak located at the driveway area will be structurally pruned to promote a strong mature form. This includes the following specifications:
Subordinate codominant leaders to promote the development of a strong central leader.
Remove low and prominent dead branches.
Remove rubbing, crossing, and poorly attached branches.
Raise lower branches to a height appropriate for the size of the tree.
