Ordered chip drop Sunday night, 15 yards showed up Monday morning. Took 2 days to move it all, I'm exhausted. I've wanted to try the back to Eden Method ever since I started watching James Prigioni on YouTube. Most of it was put down in walking paths, but there's some space in the back I'd like to put some fruit trees. I ordered some road cones, not pictured, that showed up shortly after the chips showed up. They were nice to have since I had to leave it overnight.
Next step, reinforce the greenhouse with some lumber for the doorway and in the back for a window. Every year I add more to the garden. This year, is the most I've ever done. Grass gives you nothing, grow a garden that's giving.

My back hurts just looking at that pile.
But seriously, nice work, it’s looking great! We have been chipping away at our lawn and I couldn’t be happier.
Looks great, can’t believe you moved it in 2 days! I remember fondly (in retrospect) my chip drop from last summer & I almost got another in the fall (but then I remembered all the wheelbarrow loads).
I need about half that. Am thinking of just calling an arborist so l don’t get a semi truck load!

I can’t believe they left it in the street. Ours have to be in our driveway
love a chip drop. did it smolder at all?
JEALOUS. I could handle a drop that size, but I’m scared to end up with like, industrial amounts. Enjoy!
I need a chip drop so bad, I even offered extra money to get one, but in two years I’ve never gotten one.
Unfortunately the only time I see guys chopping trees in my neighborhood it’s to bring down ash trees due to emerald ash borer, and I think that stuff needs to be disposed of differently to prevent spread.
How good did you sleep after? I shoveled 10 yards of dirt over a week and I was able to nod off an hour early every night. It was heaven
We just spent a week moving ours! I’m exhausted— but the garden paths look amazing!
Hell yeah! Just moved 20 yards over the weekend. Superrrr nice chips from chipdrop too. Wish I had a few more yards worth to be honest, so worth it. Almost meditative and feels really accomplishing when you hit the sack at the end of the day and a good kind of soreness the next. Neighbors kept on walking by like I’m crazy and my back yard beds now look awesome and prepped for a hot summer. Nice work! Cheers.

Wha do yall do with the wood chips after you’re done for the season?
Awesome!
Note: According to the Chip drop website, they won’t leave the drop in the street unless the speed limit 25mph or less and the pile won’t take up more space than if the truck was parked there. I also set up proper road cones, 18″ with reflectors, not pictured. I tried to see if a permit was required, but could not find a definitive answer on the county website. People park on both sides of the street in my neighborhood, so the pile didn’t cause any more disruption of traffic than a vehicle parked there.
If you’re planning on having the pile in the street, the liability falls on you. Use your best judgment when taking on the responsibility of blocking a roadway. I’ve worked DPW and was traffic control certified, do not cause an unsafe situation by blocking a defined lane, turning radius of an intersection, utility cover, fire hydrant, blocking a driveway or mailbox of a neighbor, or limiting the ability of drivers to see oncoming traffic. Don’t leave your pile in the street for multiple days and make preparations if there’s to be rain so debris doesn’t wash into the storm water management system (typically a straw bale with silt fabric around it against the curb will contain debris while letting surface water to pass through gradually)
Best practices, contact the county to be certain.
I had a request in since 2022, one day it’s going to arrive at my old house and the people there will be quite surprised.
