Nooooooooo not the landscape fabric! It's literally THE worst material. Anyone who's, ever used it, will tell you it's horrible. Won't block weeds in any way and once the weeds grow through it, it becomes one with the weeds, locks them in place so when you pull them you can't get to the roots.
It might be too late as the rock is probably down. However, out west where they xeriscape they put down weed barrier fabric (also called landscape fabric). Otherwise you'll just be picking your weeds out of rocks

Tip to anyone painting their foundation, make sure it's masonry paint, not just regular exterior paint!
