Not specifically unique to Australia but we are Sydney-based if that helps with climate etc.
Had this turf laid by professionals mid-Feb. They are good friends so have absolute faith in their process – they also laid a French drain before landscaping and added plenty of good draining soil.
However, it’s just not taken. We had a bunch of rainy days early on after laying and I think it just got soaked. We did make sure to keep off it for the recommended time.
Is it a lost cause? I figured my options were:
– spike the turf to aerate it
– add some gypsum
– seasol?
– top dress with a sandier soil?
The ground is pretty sodden and hard to dry out. I realise we’re going into winter so not looking to get it lush and green.. just basically don’t want to have to relay it (this is our fourth go after attempting it poorly ourselves)

Has it rooted down? Can you lift any of it up?
I’d aerate it and seasol to promote root growth. I’d say too late in the year now to add a layer of sand but I’d also do soapy water test in case it’s the start of army grub
Soaked is good.
Turf doesn’t look that bad really.
It looks pretty tight, how much sun is it getting? Turf needs a lot of sun to do well.
