I’m going on a road trip this weekend and I was browsing fb marketplace along my route and I saw someone listing Monstera Bulbasaurs for $30-35. I’ve never really had monsteras before and I was wondering if this is a fair price/is the variegation good enough? There’s 3 plants listed, which one do you think is the best? Thanks!!

These things were going for like 10k a year or two ago, I don’t think $35 is ridiculous for one of the rarest ones currently, especially if it is acclimated and not still in TC. They do look like bulbasaur from what I have seen on here before.
That’s a crazy good price for my area, that size is like $100 here. I’d be buying one too in a heartbeat. Any of them look cute!
These are currently coming out of tissue culture in droves (the one I just got was like $12) so while I think $35 is still a fair price for an established plant baby, if $35 seems like a lot, they’ll probably be $20 at big box stores before you know it. From what I’ve seen of these, they get color as they grow, so even if they don’t have much variegation now, they should still look great as they get bigger. I’d pick whichever looks the most established.
35 is ok if you don’t want to bother acclimating them yourself. Although those look like they are fresh out of the tissue culture bag they were sold in. You could buy a tissue culture one this same size for 10-15 from a reseller at this point.
I’m sure these will be in every plant store as larger established plants by the end of the year if you wanted to wait. It was so hyped up that the market is absolutely flooded with them so no way big store won’t be selling them just like you see the Thai cons.
It takes time to acclimate and risk of failure, so $35 is not a bad price if you are not familiar with deflating and acclimation
