Possums did this to mine last year, I have to keep my veggie beds netted. This pumpkin also isn’t ripe, it’ll take a few more months of warm weather for it to fully grow then ripen. I dont think that’s going to happen now that the weather is cooling down and also now that its damaged.
Had this with a melon and it rotted. Pull it off let the plant try to grow another.
Had this issue with my melons (nice) was rats. Had to build a cage around the baby ones to protect them.
