Once established, they are tough as nails. My guess is yours had some transplant shock and, perhaps, erratic watering. Today’s rain and upcoming storms should help it get established. Make sure you water it over the summer until established.

Here are warring instructions from TreeFolks – Please make sure you’re giving your newly planted tree(s) the recommended 20 gallons of water a week they need to get through the establishment period (you can skip on weeks when we get 1+ inch of rain, if that ever happens again).
