I did a complete DIY and built the terrarium myself, and then sprayed foam the entire back and fastened it all together with screws and bolts, made my own screen lid and sliding door as well as drain drainage and basin with Clay and rocks in the bottom to serve as the aquifer. It was a lot of work but in total, it only cost me around 350 and buying one brand new was probably around 800 once I finished it all so I had to make it pretty cheap. I want to add some more plants into the ground, but I don’t know what to add. Any suggestions?

Damn dude I hate to be the one to tell you this, especially after you built it yourself, but that is not an appropriate enclosure for a Chameleon.

Is there any ventilation side to side ventilation? Most people keep their Chameleons in a full screen enclosure to give you an idea of how important ventilation is for them.

Your tank is going to hold on to humidity too much and put your Chameleon at a super high risk of respiratory infections and other health issues like scale rot. The plants you have are actually for this kind of humid environment, so if your plants do well that’s actually a sure sign that your Chameleon probably isn’t.

Tank also just looks kinda small for a lizard that size.

Buy an 18x18x32 or larger screen (ideally 2x2x4) enclosure for the Chameleon. Throw an acrylic lid over this one to keep it even more humid and then just use it as a plant terrarium. That or keep the lid ventilation and put in some morning geckos or a crested gecko. This tank would be much more appropriate for either one of them.
