The dot is the base. The horizontal line is where the foliage and flowers grow. i moved in 2 years ago and this bush was so badly pruned and overgrowned that it had an empty centre, as these woody bits fanned out at dirt level and grew folliage about 2ish feet away from where the plant would of originally been planted. Today I got sick of it and tried to prune/reposition the branches to stop it looking so scragly and half dead. Barely any pressure and somehow half of it snapped off at the base. the picture shows the half that is left.
have I killed it? will it regrow?
