back roads really slow. make that 1 hour trip into 2-3.

Cardboard and carpet wrap, stack them sideways tightly from the ground up. This usually results in fewer pokes and casualties than upright. The spikey ones sway and will absolutely destroy each other in transport.

I’d unpot them and lay them down in the bed/back

I moved all mine by putting them in old milk crates, loosely wrapping them in cardboard, and driving pretty slow.. I kept my Tersch in the crate because it was so much more stable.
Wrap them snugly in cardboard, tape secure, transport horizontally 👍

Lay on their side, wrapped in something with cushion/give.

Pool noodles are the way

They are gonna get scarred, accept it. move them the easiest way and less amount of pokes to your epidermus.

Pool noodles work. Cut them down the middle. Strap the pots together and secure them in back of truck, gently tie stalks together with pool noodles between them, id try and keep them all pretty tight. Less sway id assume
