First time Monstera owner. I got this plant about a month ago. I let it adjust for a week, and then I repotted because it was incredibly root bound. Now I’m looking at it and wondering if I should have divided it. I don’t mind how it looks, but I’m realizing that when I see other people’s Monstera’s they don’t seem to be this crowded. Just wanted to check if I should divide it for the longevity of the plant.

Just give it a bigger pot and let it grow.

While everybody here will tell you to divide them, I personally find multiple monsteras in 1 pot way cooler. You need a bigger pot than that tho..

From experience – what looks awesome today will be a tangled train wreck next year. I will never not divide again.

Do you have room to have several more monsteras if you divide it? I second the get a bigger pots suggestion 🫶

You could, but beware it is like taking your dreads out for the first time… or any time… the process with give those roots a nice trim … good luck!
