After decades of painstakingly cultivating Monsteras in pots in North America, I moved to Costa Rica where the damn things grow wild like weeds. Everywhere. They grow as big as houses (the first photo is my house with a Monstera out front); a single leaf is taller than I am. They take over wherever they are. There's no need to feed them or water them or stake them or do anything. After four years here I've finally stopped yelling STOP THE CAR!!! I NEED A CUTTING!!!! every time I see one growing in a roadside ditch or abandoned lot. I still love them though, common as they are.
