Here’s your yearly reminder that this plant (hedge parsley) is not baby’s breath, it is a horrible invasive weed that will spawn sticker burs in a month that will be all over your socks, your kids, your dog, etc. Pull it now and save us all the aggravation !

Pulling it up is the best option but the ground is so hard and dry right now and they have such a long tap root it’ll be a struggle

  3. Ha ha, what a pain to pull up! Had to get a small pick ax to get down into the soil far enough to pull out.

It’s called hedge parsley and it makes teeny tiny seed pods that stick like Velcro to your pets and to your clothes (especially knits like t-shirts).

Just be mindful that if the stalks are purplish, that is poison hemlock and you should wear gloves to remove it. It’s less common around here at least.

On top of the annoying little white flowers turning to burrs this shit gives me hives. The fucking worst

Just had my yard guy mow em all down before they got too tall!

I’m on land in Burnet. It grows all over the entire property. There is no way to pull it or control it but I always cut it back as much as possible to reduce the “beggers lice” stickies

I had to throw my clothes away when I tried to take it out. The only way was to be practically naked. And using a trash bag, to prevent it from spreading. If you stay on top of it you might stave it off. But you gotta do it year-round.
