  1. How much does an indoor grow light cost on energy monthly?

In indoor environments, natural light may not always be sufficient for optimal plant growth. Grow lights can be used to supplement natural light or even replace it entirely, allowing plants to receive the necessary light energy regardless of the season or weather conditions. So you can keep growing your food 365 days a year with this technology. Aside from growing food year round, these lights can also be useful to start your seedlings or even overwinter plants for the next growing season.

If you’re worried about energy costs, newer LED grow lights are more efficient than they used to be. For example, We’re using six SF600 Spider Farmer LED lights that we run at night during ultra low peak for 12 straight hours. Each light consumes only 74Wh and this is what it calculates to monthly.

Ultra low peak, 8 hours (cost $0.028)
    74W x 6 lights x 8 hours x 30 days ÷ 1000 = 106.56 Kwh

    106.56 x 0.028 = $2.98

Mid peak, 4 hours (cost $0.1220)
    74W x 6 lights x 4 hours x 30 days ÷ 1000 = 53.28 Kwh

    53.28 x 0.1220 = $6.50

Every month, it only costs $9.48 which is equivalent to a price of 2 lettuce

  2. Can some resrarch be done on effects of eating veggies grown entirely on chemicals ( liquud fertilizer) instead of soil? What are the side effects?

  3. Where did you get the grow tent? Ive been searching for one and i havent seen one this size. I looked on spider site but i still dont see one this size. I appreciate any info! Thank you

  4. Is this set up indoor or outdoor? What is the purpose of the setup if it’s indoor since it’s already warm inside the house and won’t the grow lights be just enough for the plants? Thank you

  5. Dude I’m so excited to start my tiny indoor garden. I’m doing it in my room, it’s super small but my goal is to mostly grow herbs and maybe experiment growing some vegetables. We’ll see. It’s a little conflicting rn because I don’t live alone, I share the space with 2 other people, one being my gf and the other person is her sister. It’s been a rocky relationship with both so I have my own room now but was sharing one with my gf. We decided some space was needed for mental growth and development. Idk why I’m saying all this but thanks for reading this if you still are. Life can be hard but it’s not always. Learning to enjoy the little things and make them big. 🙏🏻
