This Orostachys was collected from Mt. Ishizuchi (Japan),
a harsh mountain environment.
I grew it under lowland conditions for about a year.

→ Small, irregular, stressed-looking rosette
• After adaptation
→ More stable, symmetrical growth
• Final stage
→ Compact, colorful rosette under cultivation

I personally like the wild form, but the cultivated one looks completely different.
This is also why Orostachys can be so difficult to identify sometimes.
It’s interesting how much environment can change them.
