My collection has grown far too large to continue fertilizing the way i have been for years. Im considering switching to a pellet application, preferably extended release. Anybody out there use or have experience with any good products

From the reading I’ve done on this, the nutrient ratio and consistency of nutrient level are always going to take a major hit in quality when switching to solid pellet form. Some elements just release into water faster than others. That said I’ve seen some people have plants do ok with some products like this. You’ve got to read the label and choose carefully. Looking at our local options, espoma tomato tone, espoma citrus tone, and Whitney farms tomato food that seem closest I could find to a good ratio. I’ve tried a couple in mixes a year ago but I was still feeding synthetic water based nutes at the same time so can’t speak to the effectiveness or optimal application timings.

I’ve switched to mixing masterblend in a big trash can and using a diaphragm pump with a hose wand attachment to water on. Pretty efficient. Only a little more complicated than watering with straight hose water.

Have no answers of advice, just here to ask what that beautiful blue bad boy in the back right is. He’s sooooo blue lol.

I have great results with 1 ml of Dyna-Gro per gallon of water.

There is the Down to Earth cactus and succulent mix that could complement the pellet approach, it isn’t pellets but could work favorably and could mix in more ingredients into it before scooping onto the soil surface.
