Hello,
Within about 48 hours of bringing Jade plant home, a significant amount of white crystalline buildup showed up on the surface of the soil. It looks like salt.
The plant was inside in a bright windowsill that received direct sun for several hours. There was a nearby closed off floor vent. When the salt buildup appeared, I noticed the soil was completely saturated with moisture, even though the plant had only been watered lightly several days prior.
I am so confused how this mount of buildup showed up in a 48-hour period. The jade plant is in a well-draining succulent mix, it is planted in a plastic pot set within a ceramic pot, and the plant has not been heavily fertilized.
Does anyone have any ideas what might be going on?

Built up fertilizer salts is my first thought?
Edit after I looked more. It looks like large table or sea salt? I don’t think salt crystal from fertilizer would form that large that quickly. Sire someone didn’t spill into it?
Looks like table salt. Remove most with a vacuum
