  1. Ducks are such great fun. They are full of personality and will be a joy to have on yourmini homestead. A few runner ducks will do wonders for slug and snail control as well as providing eggs. A quick hose down clears any mess.

  2. I can not wait to see the final Before and After of this project im sure its going to be absolutly stunning the final results. I hope you are paying your dad well with some good pub visits as well hahahaha

  3. Should of use a landscapers shovel for getting the rock into the wheel barrow. It'll save your back big time.

  4. Thank you Alex… although I don't know you nor you I, you make a tough time easier with your videos. So thank you.

  5. I just love your dad being on your channel! Watching you both work together is tops. I hope while working, you’re enjoying the time together.

  6. I'd be interested in knowing how much the materials and everything cost in total to realise that project 😃

  7. Great job! The garden starts to look really beautiful! Take care and Let's grow happiness, one plant at the time 🥒🌶🫑🍆🍅

  8. Treasure your Dad. You are blessed to have him working so hard to help you. My Dad had a back injury when I was 2 years old and I’ve never experienced that kind of bonding with him!

  9. I've been sick with the flu in an upper respiratory infection so I have been binge watching your videos again I find them very relaxing and comforting. The home you bought looks so gorgeous would it be to weird to ask for a video of the layout? I have been wanting to build a home that just has that cozy feeling and these older english style homes just hit differently than the ones I find in the US.

  10. I was really excited to see the completed result but the amount of gravel and cement in a "garden" is beyond insane, I am personally against adding hard gravel in gardebs. This is more of a project for your dad than yours to be honest.

  11. Hi Alex the Garden is going to look great when finished. I have recently documented my extension build on the back of my house over the last year whilst trying to do most of the work my self whilst documenting it and editing it all for YouTube and it wasn’t easy but very rewarding and always good to look back on in years to come.

  12. You might call me mad or crazy but I believe you will move one more time in the future you will find somewhere in the same area or little bit further away so you can have everything you want on your own properly
    Your home is looking wonders
Your dad is great for what he does

  13. The gravel looks great. You'll still get weeds popping up in it as dirt blos and washes into it. But, the nice thing is, gravel doesn't catch fire, so you can always hit it with one of those torches attached to a propane tank. Easiest weeding you'll ever do.

  14. Looking forward to the ongoing transformation, Alex! It's wonderful to see your relationship with your dad, and how well you work together. All the best from New Mexico, USA.

  15. It's really coming along. Such hard work, my back hurts just watching you two. So, this isn't a criticism, but the transition from gravel to paving stone will pick up quite a bit of gravel on people's feet onto the paving stones. It would drive me crazy.

  16. Check out Indian runner ducks. They eat specifically slugs and don't eat plants. I'm planning them and did a lot of youtube research, in Poland they are quite a vibe now amongst garden/houses youtubers. Can't wait for mine they are so cute and funny.

  17. Your dad is a genius! So many other wonderful things that could be said about him. Just incredible. Keep putting him to work

  18. @just_alex Ducks are awesome I’ve had them for years. They do make a lot of mess and create work. But what in life doesnt. They are so incredibly rewarding ❤

  19. Alex, looking at the photo at the end of your video of a wildlife corridor, I thought I would mention that my daughter(Tori Linder co founder of Path of the Panther now Wild Path) also works to save wildlife corridors here in the U.S: Florida has dedicated billions of dollars to save our Florida Wildlife Corridor. You can see her work via ‘Path of the Panther’ on National Geographic which won an Emmy last year. Sounds exciting, I know, but trust me, the real work is spending long hard days & nights in the dark murky swamp waters of the Everglades making a film to present & communicate the desperate need for these wild lands to continue being undeveloped. She continues to spend countless hours meeting with governors throughout the U.S. as she presses forward with this message of survival for all of us. Thank You for partnering with Planet Wild and supporting our wild lands.

  20. A pizza oven is an excellent idea. My sister has one with the oven imported from Italy and built into a structure of local stones. It is just wonderful. Not only does it do brilliant pizzas, they also cook roasts (including the Christmas Turkey, various casseroles and even make their own bread! I can highly recommend one to you, Alex!

  21. Not sure if it is just a UK thing, but that "whacker" is a plate tamper. You tamper things with it haha. Not sure which one I like better, now!

EDIT: Also, commonly called a diesel plate.

  22. Absolutely fantastic transformation Alex, but please get that wood store stained the colour of your back door, my OCD is doing my head in! Loved watching you since I first seen you and Carl years ago, and Dad is brill 👍

  23. You have an incredible talent for crafting videos and telling stories. I’m not even remotely interested in gardening or bees, but your videos are captivating and I keep watching everything you post. I’m not sure if you’re even consciously trying to do it, but you could literally make a video about paint drying and I would watch it all the way through.
