Step 1 Tie a strap around the base of them and snatched them out with the truck. Step 2 put them in a pile and light on fire Step 3 grab a beer and enjoy.

Now is a good time to prune. You can prune way back, and they will bush out. Those bare spots will never fill in. By pruning back, you’re give the bushes a chance to become much fuller. Also fertilize with any good fertilizer. Never prune in the fall or summer, as the growth will be ruined.

I had boxwoods and cut them back to around 24” They grew back with no problem

I’ve been dealing with boxwoods of similar size for a few years. Every spring I’d take a few inches off. Last year I was open to pulling them out so I gave them an aggressive cut…at first they looked bad. Surprisingly a month later I had new leaves popping out everywhere and they looked pretty good all summer/fall. It was an impressive comeback. I gave them another aggressive cut last week…they have to earn their keep!
