It's not a tree to have right next to your house because it does drop branches pretty easily.

It also comes with It's own bugs, that's the last picture.

It is host to 285 kinds of butterflies and moths.

It still is one of my faves because it starts so early and looks so cheerful. Just look at those blooms.

And it doesn't get huge, it makes a nice little shade tree by the fence.

    My sister bought me one of these last year for my birthday for the house I bought 2 years ago that has absolutely no shade and terrible soil.

    I’m hoping boxelder bugs don’t decimate it. Last summer it barely made it thru the scorching, dry summer thanks to my 100 ft garden hose. It didn’t grow a single new leaf all summer so hopefully it was focusing on the roots and it’ll get new growth this year..Sigh

    Damn I hate those trees cause I hate those bugs. They aren’t detrimental to the house as they don’t eat the wood like termites or such but they are so annoying! My house had so many of them get inside and I am vehemently opposed to outside bugs being inside.
