SEATTLE, Wash. – A man has been arrested following an incident at the Chihuly Garden and Glass Museum where art valued at $240,000 was reportedly destroyed.

The damage was discovered by a security guard at the museum just after 11 p.m. on Monday night.

Seattle police reported that the suspect allegedly threw broken glass shards and attempted to stab the guard multiple times. Despite the confrontation, the guard was unharmed.

Officers eventually took the suspect into custody.

The man is now facing charges of first-degree burglary, second-degree assault and first-degree malicious mischief. He remains in King County Jail.
