There are 3 Redbuds in my yard. They start blooming in succession rather then at the same time. They are not so very far apart but it's like that every year.
What a fantastic small native 🌳 tree. Even the nightly frost doesn't hurt them.

Theyre so lovely, I am really considering planting one this year. What size were yours when you planted them, and do you feel like they grew quickly? I’ve read mixed comments about their growth rate.
Eat some flowers 😁. They taste like garden fresh peas.
I’ve read the twigs can be used as an Appalachian spice for venison 😯
Just planted one! My favorite understory native tree!
I love this tray so much. We have one in our yard, and it is so incredibly beautiful in the spring summer and fall. And the winter, too, it’s such a graceful branching. People walk by and ask me what kind of tree it is all the time
