I’ve seen 35 western monarchs eclose already this year, with 80+ caterpillars eating literally every ounce of milkweed in the yard.

I love autumn and winter, but summer seems so long ago now that I am looking forward to it! Just for a couple weeks though, then I will be hot and miserable until autumn returns. I have seasonal depression, but for summer. I get so mad and depressed in the summer because it’s so hot and humid. This summer, I will have a toddler and I can’t wait to show her my flowers and bugs. Next spring, she will be old enough to appreciate my favorite spring ephemeral and orchid walks 🙂
