As I posted earlier this week my greenhouse was blown over and now I need to build a new one and im going to make it out of lumber.

Should I toe into the base? Should I make it bigger? Base is roughly 7'×10'

I'm looking for ideas and watchouts, I am not building anything extravagant but something that will hole a few hundred starters.

I will post the base, the garbage greenhouse and my starts. TIA

  1. Use pressure treated lumber for anything that doesn’t touch the plants or soil. There’s a lot of humidity in a greenhouse and this will help diminish rot.

Plan your build around what you currently have for panels unless you’re going with all new panels. Also, you can build a bit bigger if you choose to only have East, West and South panels with the back wall as plywood (or something similar).

Consider whether you’re going to grow plants in raised beds, or on shelves. This will help with your planning.

    Remember ventilation.

    I hope this helps.

I don’t know much but I’ve read that doing 2 layers pretty much sealed up with like a computer sized fan blowing intp it to pressurize it acts as a sort of temp barrier for greenhouses. Keeps the inside temp regulated from massive swings.

Like do hard shell outside, seal all the cracks, the on the inside put up sheet plastic and put a fan in a hole to pressurize it.

Design in lots of ventilation. Lots of fungi and bugs love undisturbed humidity and heat.
