For reference I water about once every 2.5 weeks, approx 4-6 cups at a time and wait until its bone dry in the top two inches of soil. A few leaves have dropped recently from the bottom. Im located in a warm climate in southern california
It gets indirect sunlight in this corner all day, although not much direct light.
Any thoughts on the cause? How would you recommend watering?

Likely needs way more light!
More light as others have said. I’d try watering a bit more often especially if in a clay pot.
Is that vent blowing hot or cold air on it?
