Mabelvale, Ark. (KATV) — Providence Park Homes is inviting the community to take part in an upcoming volunteer event aimed at supporting future residents in Mabelvale.

During Saturday Daybreak, Errin Calhoun Stanger with Providence Park shared details about the organization’s upcoming Planting Day, where volunteers will help plant more than 50 trees as part of a new food forest project.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at 6900 Green Road in Mabelvale.

According to organizers, the trees will be planted to help create a food forest for residents moving into their permanent homes.

The project is designed to provide a shared green space while also introducing long-term environmental and educational benefits.

Providence Park Homes is a Central Arkansas nonprofit focused on housing and community support. Organizers say the event is part of the organization’s broader effort to create stable living spaces while involving the community in the process.

In addition to planting trees, volunteers will have the opportunity to learn about soil health, explore the concept of food forests, and connect with the Community Garden Network.

Organizers say lunch will be provided, and participants will also be able to take home a tree.

Community members interested in volunteering are encouraged to attend and take part in the day’s planting activities.
