I’ve had this flf since the beginning of January. After getting some advice here to cut out a brown spot on a leaf (big cutout on bottom leaf) and circling roots, I repotted it a couple of weeks ago. It has only dropped one leaf about a month ago so it seems happy where it is and with the light it gets. But I keep looking for any signs of new buds or leaves and nothing. I told my husband I don’t think it’ll ever grow and he points out this little leaf. I know it hasn’t been there all along! And it’s in the middle of a branch, not the end of one like where I would’ve thought. The ends are just these dried out brown leaves. I haven’t done any notching or really anything else besides trimming that brown spot out.

Do I just need to be patient? Should I add in a fertilizer? Thanks for any ideas!

That’s likely not a new leaf. Since you only repotted a couple of weeks ago and we’re just starting to approach spring in the northern hemisphere, your best bet is to wait. Also, do NOT add fertilizer. You just repotted, it’ll have plenty of nutrients.

Make sure it gets as much light as possible (some people say that too much direct sun will burn leaves, I have never had this issue. They are trees after all). Since you just repotted it will likely focus on root growth for the next few weeks. These also tend to go dormant (in relation to new growth) in the winter. Mine stopped giving me leaves around November and just gave me a flourish about 3 weeks ago.

Water when the top 2ish inches of soil are dry and be patient
