  1. Looks like an insane mealy bug infestation. Little mites that have a fluffy white coat. Poop sugar water leaving sticky little drops.

this is possibly the worst mealybug infestation i’ve ever seen in my life. Honestly, I would trash it. If these are just the bugs you can see, imagine how many you can’t see, how many eggs there might be in the soil…eugh. Save yourself the months-long horrible war that you might not even win anyway, and bin it

Holy Christ that is more bug than plant

  4. Time to burn everything you own and never look back

My jaw literally dropped when I saw this. I can’t imagine it being worth trying to save this plant. You should throw it away, clean the area around it and ensure no other plants that may be nearby are already infected. These are mealy bugs and it’s the worst infestation I’ve ever seen.

Holy crap! I’ve never seen so many mealy bugs on one leaf before! You’re infested!

    BURN IT ALL!

No seriously, this is not worth saving. I have never seen one this bad! I would get it asap

If you have any other plants near it, check them for white spots. Use rubbing alcohol to kill them. I keep some in a spray bottle for this purpose among others.

Just looking at it makes me feel gross

All these other folks are just being alarmists. That is obviously simply cotton candy. You own a cotton candy plant. It’s fruiting. Congratulations.

    Jesus God Leah!!!

Get rid of it and any other plants that have been even remotely close to it.

ETA – I’ve had mealy bugs one time since I’ve been into plants. I saw maybe 10 of them. I had to throw the plant away because nothing I did got rid of them.

If there are a few mealy bugs, I have successfully killed them by dabbing them with a qtip soaked with alcohol. But this poor guy is far beyond that. 😞

Throw the entire plant away. And any plant that was within 10 feet. 😟😟😟

1litre of water plus 2 Tbsp of liquid soap.
Spray on bugs. Repeat in 3 days.
Bugs gone in 2 weeks completely.
Plant with this amount of infestation- BTW-》EWWW!- and still healthy deserves to be saved.

I’d spray 91%alcohol and stay on top of it.
As a matter of fact, spray all your plants and that monstera that’s touching him. I think you can beat this.
