Harry Judd revealed he made a hospital dash following a gardening accident. The McFly drummer had to get a wound on his left pinky finger stitched up during a visit to Accident and Emergency (A&E) on Tuesday, 10 March.

Harry, 40, posted a selfie of himself in the waiting area to his Instagram Stories and wrote over it: “Need to start wearing gloves when gardening. Sat in A+E now. Won’t affect drumming fyi!”

In another story post, the All About You hitmaker shared a photo of his left pinky finger all bandaged up, and Harry admitted he almost fainted when the medical team stitched the wound up.

The star said: “Stitches in. Thanks @nhsenglandldn. Nearly passed out from the massive needle.” Harry didn’t go into any further details about his injury.

Last year, Harry and his 42-year-old wife, author Izzy, revealed that one of their three children – daughter Lola, nine, and sons Kit, eight, and four-year-old Lockie – are neurodivergent after being diagnosed with pathological demand avoidance.

And the condition – which causes anxiety when an individual is given simple requests – has changed the way Harry and Izzy parent.

Appearing on an October 2025 episode of Dr Alex George’s Stompcast podcast, Izzy explained: “Pathological demand avoidance is linked with autism.

“It’s basically about demands that are put on a child who, underneath the demand, has a lot of anxiety. From the moment a child wakes up in the morning, they are being told to eat their breakfast, get dressed, brush your teeth.

“And all these anxieties are forming in them – that people are putting pressure and demands on them. They don’t respond to authority or hierarchy. They want autonomy, they want to be in control.”

Speaking about how they have changed their approach to parenting, Izzy – who did not reveal which of her and Harry’s three children are neurodivergent – shared: “If you flip it and go, ‘I’ve left your clothes out,’ – I actually just don’t even say it anymore.

“And I don’t ask many questions at all because that’s placing a demand, and a demand is too anxiety-provoking.”

Izzy admitted she has felt judged “really heavily” due to expectations on how parents’ children should behave.

She explained: “There are quite rigid societal expectations of how children are supposed to behave. Initially, I felt the judgment really heavily. You have to go through a kind of grief process, that things aren’t going to be as you thought they would be.

“For a neurodivergent child, they’re physically unable to sit. It’s not because they don’t want to – they can’t.

“But then, as a parent, you’re going, ‘I need to teach my child to sit at the table and say please and thank you.’ What if they can’t look at somebody? What if that makes them feel really uncomfortable?”
