Hello! I am a new gardener, and had my soil tested. I am struggling to understand and know what I need to amend in my dirt to make my soil better for peppers. Please Help if you have some experience with this. I live in Zone 6B and have several months before I will transplant my peppers outside.

  1. I’m not a soil expert. I have done some research, listened to farmers, pepper experts, and I make fertilizer at work. Soo take this with a grain of salt. Hopefully someone else can verify or correct me.

I see that you really don’t need to fertilize all that much. You have plenty of P and K. You have calcium and magnesium. You have boron, copper, iron and zinc. You have almost too much organic matter. And your pH is high. So, in your shoes, if I looked at this, I’d add enough elemental sulfur to get it around a 6.8 pH. And you’re a touch shy on nitrogen and some micronutrients. Add some high Nitrogen fertilizer, such as fish emulsion or blood meal if you want to stay organic, or some ammonium sulfate or urea. The organic nitrogen will stay in the soil better and won’t leach out or dissipate as quickly. And they come with additional micronutrients, i believe that includes the ones you’re low on.
