Rooting a Drosanthemum

I got this cutie two weeks ago. I removed the dried leaves when I first got it. In the past two weeks, a few more leaves have dried up, but there is still no sign of roots. It’s so small that I’m afraid it might die before rooting.

I’m thinking of putting the very end of the stem in water to encourage roots to emerge, but I have no experience with this genus, and there is very little information available. I’m also worried about rotting it.

Any advice on rooting this very interesting plant and on its care?
