So I got this plant on valentines dav as a aift and watered it on that evenina. it's been 16 days since that. I've asked on this sub (and some others) about how to take care of it and I'm too afraid of overwatering it. However, I'm not sure if I should water it today? I've put it by a south facing window but my city doesn't get much sunlight this time of the year.

If not todav it would have to wait until Monday since it stays in the office and I only go to there on Mondays and Tuesdays

I’ll usually pinch the lower leaves. If they are relatively squishy, I’ll give it water. If they are firm, do not water. You’re better off to err on the side of underwatering.

If you are afraid of overwatering, then being on the underwatering side is a good idea. They can take a while before really needing water, [I have an extreme example here](https://www.reddit.com/r/succulents/comments/walpm5/after_a_well_deserved_bottom_watering_session/?share_id=jCE7a0cqxanOaB6Zq8WZh), but they can show signs of thirst in different ways like shriveled leaves, deflated leaves, leaves that lost their shine, droopy leaves, etc. As previously said a good way to check is pinching the lower leaves and feel their firmness.
